The National Committee for Quality Assurance

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a private, 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. Since its founding in 1990, NCQA has been a central figure in driving improvement throughout the health care system, helping to elevate the issue of health care quality to the top of the national agenda. Our goal is a health care system that improves individual health and saves lives. NCQA‘s programs and services reflect a straightforward formula for improvement: Measure. Analyze. Improve. Repeat.

NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations and recognizes providers in key areas. NCQA’s Health care Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) and Quality Compass are the most widely used performance measurement tools in health care. NCQA‘s highly respected accreditation, certification and clinician recognition programs are the most rigorous in the industry -- and only NCQA has accreditation programs that score programs on quality of care.

NCQA will certify all components of this initiative for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and apply for Practice Assessment Points from the ABIM. NCQA is an Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) accredited provider of CME. The mission of the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program at the NCQA is to improve the quality of patient health by developing and implementing strategies to identify and narrow gaps between current and optimal clinical performance and patient outcomes.

Immunization Action Coalition

The Immunization Action Coalition (IAC) works to increase immunization rates and prevent disease by creating and distributing educational materials for healthcare professionals and the public that enhance the delivery of safe and effective immunization services. The Coalition also facilitates communication about the safety, efficacy, and use of vaccines within the broad immunization community of patients, parents, healthcare organizations, and government health agencies.

For more than two decades, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has worked in concert with and provided financial support to IAC for the purpose of educating healthcare professionals about U.S. vaccine recommendations. CDC recognized IAC's accomplishments in 1997 by awarding it the prestigious Partners in Public Health Award for efforts "instrumental in achieving high levels of routine infant hepatitis B immunization."
